Jeffrey Simmons Medical Needs

My name is Emily Simmons and my brother Jeffrey Simmons was in a severe accident a few nights ago. He has suffered a severe brain injury where he is fighting for his life in the ICU. He is so strong and I know he will make it through this hard time. We are looking at a few months stay in the hospital at best case scenario. Due to these circumstances we are desperately trying to keep up with bills needed so Jeffrey doesn’t have to worry when he leaves the hospital. We are trying to cover his house payment and car payment for a few months. We want his fiance kendra to be able to take care of him without the stress of losing what they have worked hard for.
My parents are Jeff Simmons and Donna Simmons who both work in the Wyoming County School System. My dad, Jeff, is the principal at Wyoming East High School. Anyone who knows him knows he has a passion for our community and the children in our area. He has spent most of his life teaching, coaching and mentoring the youth in our area.
We don’t know what the future holds but we are confident my brother will be able to return home to his family. We are so grateful for our community and all the prayers we have been receiving.
UPDATE 4/7/24:
Jeffrey was officially accepted into Shepherd Center in Atlanta GA. This facility is one of the top few brain injury rehabilitation centers in the country. They do not accept everyone so we are blessed he was chosen to start this program. Jeffrey is truly a miracle and I know Shepherd sees it too. This facility does come with a cost. His transportation alone was $8000 out of pocket with insurance. We are very grateful because without this page we would not have been able to get him there. We appreciate all the prayers and support. Keep fighting Jeffrey
UPDATE: 5/6/24
My brother Jeffrey is having his skull put back in on 5/17/24. This means my parents must stay in Atlanta for another 2-3 months at minimum. My family has been staying in the hospital’s free housing but the facility has a 30 day max stay. This mean my parents are now having to pay roughly $3500 a month at minimum in order to stay in a hotel room near by. My parents could really use some extra help. The money raised up to this date has went toward Jeffrey’s flight to Atlanta which costed my parents $8,000 and they are having to pay a portion of Jeffrey’s rehabilitation care. We are so appreciate of the support our community has shown to my parents already. Without you all Jeffrey would not be getting the care he needs
