Jeffrey McCabe's Education Fund

On the morning of March 21, 2024, Jana and Jeffrey McCabe unexpectedly lost their beloved husband and father. Jeff left this world far too soon at the age of 57 after suffering a massive heart attack. Jeff was fun-loving, always ready to break the ice in a solemn moment or share a joke to make others laugh. With a twinkle in his beautiful blue eyes, a warm smile, and an encouraging word, Jeff's kindness and willingness to help others knew no bounds.
Jeff treasured time spent outdoors, hiking and camping with his family across the United States National Parks and abroad. Jeff's talents as a cartoonist and artist were just some of the gifts he humbly shared with his family and friends. Jeff enjoyed building Canoe Carnival floats with his Motorheads buddies in Medford Lakes. Jeff cherished spending time with his kids on his homemade backyard golf course or with family on the Cape May beach. He was immensely proud of his children, Marketa and Jeffrey, and adored his dogs, Lilly and Bo.
Jeff worked at the Department of Transportation (NJDOT) in multiple capacities for over 20 years, making meaningful connections and friendships wherever he went. His colleagues describe him as an extremely hard worker who fit in seamlessly and whose welcoming presence always gave those around him a sense of belonging. Dedicated, kind, and energetic, Jeff brought meaning into the workplace.
We are launching this fundraiser to assist Jeffrey and Jana during this unexpected and devastating period. No family is ever fully prepared financially and emotionally for the series of losses they have endured in recent years. The profound grief of losing Marketa, a vibrant, loving sister, and daughter, just three years ago is a tragedy in itself. Coupled with Jeff's sudden departure, the future appears bleak. We aim to lend a helping hand to Jana and Jeffrey. The funds will be used to pay for the remainder of Jeffrey's 5-year program at NJIT. Architecture has been Jeffrey's passion since he was a child. He shared his natural creativity and love of building things with his father from a very early age. It is imperative to Jana that Jeffrey can complete his studies and face the future with the knowledge that he can graduate and move forward, even in the face of all this adversity.
Jeff was a generous man who always offered to help in any way possible. If you are financially able to do so, please donate to help the son he was so proud of. We also ask that you share this GoFundMe page to reach others who may not have heard the news or would simply like to donate.
