Honouring Jeffrey Hobin: Loving Father, Partner, and Creative Soul

It is with shattered hearts that we share the sudden, tragic passing of Jeffrey Hobin, who left us far too soon at the age of 39—passing unexpectedly on his daughter Brooklynn’s birthday, August 28th,2026.

Jeff was truly one of one. To know him was to experience a warmth, humour, and kindness that instantly put you at ease. He was my best friend, and my rock for decades; he understood me better than anyone in this world ever could. Above all titles, though, his greatest pride and ultimate joy was being an outstanding, devoted father to his daughter, Brooklynn.

Jeff walked through life with an endless curiosity and a fiercely creative spirit:

A gifted artist, poet, and skilled carpenter who could build beauty with his hands and capture truth with his words.

A lifelong lover of music, superheroes, Star Wars, and competitive weekends playing airsoft and knower of all things military, big and small.

At peace with a fishing rod in hand on the water, and deeply dedicated to standing up for others as a compassionate advocate.

Jeff was hilarious, charming, brilliant, and without question the kindest soul any of us had ever met. He brought so much light, laughter, and loyalty into our lives.

Because Jeff’s passing was so sudden and unexpected, we are faced with navigating profound grief alongside sudden financial realities. This GoFundMe has been created to help cover Jeff’s memorial and funeral expenses, and to provide support and stability for Brooklynn as she faces the future without her dad.
