Jeffrey Hayes was a Derby legend. He was a man larger than life, taken too soon by a brain aneurysm in 2020. He was known across the world for his hospitality and good old country party antics.  Jeffrey was always willing to lend a helping hand, crack a joke and share a beer.  As Derby grew as a Mountain Biking destination so did Jeffery's reputation amongst the riding community.  

Our goal is to create a permanent memorial that is as big and beautiful as Jeffrey was.

This is a fundraiser in Jeffrey's honour, started on the day of his funeral to support the construction of a memorial statue of Jeffrey, so there will always be a place to go and share stories together.  The Statue will be located in Derby in a prominent location.  

This fundraiser is managed by Ian Harwood of EMS Enduro and Toby Shingleton of Shimano on behalf of the Hayes family.
