Jeffrey Bush with Medical Expenses

Hello, my name is Becky Baker and I am fundraising for my brother, Jeffrey Bush.

Jeff was recently hospitalized due to complications of Covid which resulted in blood clots that traveled from his legs to his lungs putting strain on the right side of his heart. In order to reduce the strain on Jeff’s heart he underwent a thrombectomy to remove the clots in his lungs. He still has some clots, but has been placed on a blood thinner that will hopefully take care of the remaining clots and prevent further clots from forming.

Jeffrey has just recently moved to Michigan with his son Colton, as his wife, Shallas and daughter, Stormmie remain in Texas while Shallas completes nursing school. Jeffrey had just started a new job recently and is waiting for health insurance through his employer to take effect but unfortunately it will not kick in until April. This means that the hospital visit, procedure, and medication coverage will be out of pocket costs for my brother until April.

Jeff still has a long road to recovery ahead. We plan to use all donations to pay for upcoming medical expenses, expenses for the procedure he had to undergo, as well as the medication he will need to be taking to help prevent new clots from forming. We won’t know what the cost of the procedure or hospital stay was until he receives the bill. The medication that he was prescribed (Eliquis) to prevent further clots will cost him about $700/month until Jeff is covered under insurance. In addition, Jeffrey is unable to work at this time limiting the funds he has to cover the costs as well as provide support his wife and daughter in Texas.
