Help! Jeffrey Burns Housing for 6 Months

Hi! My name is Heather Perryman and I am fundraising for housing for Jeffrey Burns for six months until he begins getting his disability benefits. Jeffrey is a gentleman that is humble and grateful for everything. He is in desperate need for help right now for the next six months. After the six months he will be financially independent. Jeffrey doesn’t hold up a sign for help, doesn’t ask for anything. He is usually found sitting at a local shopping center sidewalk reading his Bible. Many people stop and talk to him as well as drop off food and drinks. My family recently had the pleasure of sitting and talking with Jeffrey for a couple of hours. He is slow moving due to hip pain from hip replacement and has neuropathy in his feet. He uses a cane to walk. Jeffrey does not do drugs and does not drink alcohol. Sober and clean for four years. Missing teeth due to being jumped by six guys four years ago. Has to eat soft food for now. His plan when he gets his disability is to have his teeth fixed and will have a place to live. I found an Extended Stay America locally and priced the five months. The longer the stay the cheaper it is. So from now November through May 31st the room is $54 plus tax per night. The photo shows the one room studio I can book for him. My family is able to help but we cannot do this alone. I’m hoping our community can come together and give Jeffrey the help he so desperately needs. It’s getting colder out. He needs a warm room, bed to lay his head, a place to bathe, a kitchen to cook in and a place to do his laundry. I see this as a hand up and not a hand out. Let’s rally together and show Jeffrey what a loving supportive community we have. We can make a huge difference in his life.

All funds raised will go towards his housing and meal cards for six months. Those of you that have been following his story know there is a person that offered to sell him a gas scooter for $200. All funds will go towards his immediate needs. If you have any questions please ask. I will be completely transparent about all funds collected and when/where it will be used.

I had to have a plan before setting up the gofundme so the Extended Stay is what I had planned. If I am able to find safe, more affordable housing for the six months, will definitely go that route, he needs warm clothing, the gas scooter at $200 would be great but if we can raise enough for him to get a reliable used car that would be better. He does not know we are raising funds for him. I’m so excited for him!! This will be life changing for him! I cannot do it alone. Thank you to those who’ve donated so far♥️
