Jeffrey Brown's Stroke
Donation protected
If you know my husband, Jeffrey Lee Brown, he is a father, son, and husband. He is very much loved by his family, friends, and community.
In March of 2020 Jeffrey was laid off from Cameron due to COVID and the economy. Jeff worked very hard for over ten years for this company. He graduated from UMASS with a degree of electrical engineering. He had no insurance do to loss of job and minimal money to buy personal insurance. Jeffrey also served in the Navy from 2001-2007 with honorable completion discharge.
On December 20, at 5:00 am, Jeffrey had a major stroke. He had a blood clot in his brain which called for a stint to take out the blockage. Due to his age of 42, the doctors at Memorial Hermann determined him to heal fast. Four days after the event of putting the stint in, his brain started to swell and had to have immediate surgery to remove half his skull to relieve pressure in his brain. He thankfully survived but did have dead tissue in his brain from excessive blood loss. The doctors said it would take another two months before his skull would be put back. They wanted to discharge him to our home because the hospital did everything they could for him at this point. This was very scary for me because I am working long shifts and his unemployment barely covers our monthly bills. I would have had to pay for an at home nurse to take of him, which would have been all the money I am making. Fortunately, the case care worker at Memorial Hermann City Center pulled some strings to get Jeff a charity bed for 10-14 days. We were very blessed and thankful.
When he gets discharged, we will need money for an at home nurse, medical equipment, and more for the next year as predicted by the doctors. I truly believe he has been as successful at his current status due to the amount of prayers he has received but now we are needing financial support. He is a fighter and very much loved.
As his wife, Chelsea Brown, I am asking you to spread his story and help raise as much as we can to keep him getting better. Our daughter, Piper Brown, is five years old and is also struggling during all this mentally.
If you would like more info or current updates on him, you are more than welcome to contact me at any time.
Thank you to all who took the time to read this and help,
Jeffrey, Chelsea, and Piper Brown
