My name is Alyssa Homen, my mother Cynthia Homen and  I are great friends of Jeff and Sheree Lustgarten.  I decided to create this account for Sheree  to raise money for funeral expenses, and/or money for rent and living expenses. Others reached out to me wanting to know if they can donate and help, and I thought this would be the easiest method for most people.  

Jeff Lusgarten tragically lost his life December 23, 2015, the day before Christmas Eve, due an  apparent suicide.  Jeff was the main household provider, and Sheree will need help with funeral, and living expenses. No amount is too small. If we all donate something, we can help Sheree re-start her life.  

As you can imagine, this is a devastating loss for Sheree, as Jeff was her soul mate. Being close with both of them, I had the pleasure of witnessing their love first hand. I have never seen a man look at or talk about his wife, the way he did about Sheree. In addition to his devotion to his wife, Jeff was a great community servant. Earlier this month, he delivered presents to a women's shelter on behalf of the Stanislaus County Central Democratic Committee, of which he was an active member.  Jeff and Sheree also worked closely with the Hammond Senior Center. He was always giving back to the community, and there to help others in need. Jeff and Sheree helped me tremendously with my campaign for School Board, as well as helping countless others in their times of need.  

Jeff was a great people person, he and Sheree, were always the life of the party whereever they went, lighting up the room.  Whenever Jeff would call and say "I just need to tell you something real quick, it will only be 5 minutes!" An hour later, he would still be talking, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Our conversations were mostly about what we can do for our community, and he was so passionate about giving back, and what he and Sheree can do to help our local City Politics. 

Jeff had a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from UC Santa Barbara, and a Masters Degree from George Washington University in Legislative Affairs.  He's worked in various public service positions.
