Jeff's Neck/Mouth Cancer Surgery

Donation protected
I was raised to do anything for anyone based on my ability to do so and I often have. I'm proud of it. I shared that statement with you because I feel it's my time of need.

The past two years have without a doubt been the longest, hardest two years of my life. You see, two years ago my fiancé was diagnosed with breast cancer. She went through the surgery and the treatments and by the grace of God and fantastic doctors she's doing very well.
Four months into her recovery, my 24-year-old son passed away unexpectedly. Needless to say devastating.
One month to the day of his passing, my mother died of a long illness.
These were life-changing events. As well as financially devastating. One right after the other.
On March 7 of this year 2016, I was diagnosed with head, neck and mouth cancer. We met with all kinds of specialists and doctors to confirm my surgery date of March 14 to be performed at the University of Miami Cancer Treatment Center by Dr. Robert Marx and his team. The surgery will be a radical neck dissection. Removal of glands, partial tongue removal, the floor of my mouth. It's a planned 5 1/2 hour surgery. When they got into the surgery, they found much more was involved. The cancer had attached itself to my jugular vein drain, saliva glands and many more lymph nodes then were expected initially. I ended up unplanned in ICU for three days. I stayed in the hospital for seven days. It was only supposed to be a three day hospital stay. I was fed thru a Feeding tube sticking out of my stomach for the next few days while I learned to eat orally. Yuck!!
The tube will be left in while I go through my share of radiation. The radiation will cause tremendous burn blisters and swelling in my throat down through my neck. So I will be back eating through that tube for weeks during my radiation and will be unable to work during this time.
I am surrounded by tremendous family and friends. But it is financially putting me in ruins.
I'm asking for donations to help supplement the hospital bills, unemployment, Insurance deductible, and out of pocket spending over my illness.
Please pass my link and my story on to your friends and family and coworkers. It's very important to reach as many people as possible. I thank you, my family thanks you and we are forever grateful.

Jeff
