Jeff's Cancer battle

As many of you know Jeff has had a long battle with cancer. I would have never imagined we would be in the situation we are currently in. Previously Jeff was going to seek treatment and we were looking forward to a speedy recovery. Unfortunately, we are no longer in that position. Jeff's cancer returned very aggressive in nature and was not responsive to any treatment they tried. We have exhausted all means of treatment at this point and have been told it is inoperable as well as incurable. Jeff has put on a brave appearance but he is pain everyday and the internal damage has been immense. Our bad days now outweigh our good days and in the near future he will no longer be able to work full time. Once we file for SSDI there is a mandatory 5 month waiting period of unemployment before he can receive any benefits. This is going to place an extreme hardship on us financially. 
Jeff served his community for over 20 years and all I want for him in the last stages of his fight is to be comfortable and not have to worry about his family. Anything we raise above our goal will go directly to our enormous out of pocket medical expenses. It is Jeff's intent that at the end of his journey donations will be made to local charities to support others like we have been supported.
