Jeff's 2nd Kidney Transplant

My name is Angela Tomasek and I am Alyssa’s younger sister. Most of you probably weren't aware that 2 years ago my brother in law, Jeff, had a kidney transplant in September 2016. Everything was working out great until this past November. Only 2 weeks after my sister gave birth to my beautiful godson, Joseph Robert, Jeff became hospitalized and found out that his transplanted kidney was no longer functioning. The doctors informed him that he would have to start dialysis immediately and go back on the list for a 2nd kidney transplant. After learning this, they also found out the average wait for a kidney at Vanderbilt is between 5-8 years! By some miracle after 14 days on the list and also the day he was scheduled to start his at home dialysis, he received a call at 3am that they had found a perfect match! 

Jeff had his surgery at Vanderbilt the morning of January 15th and everything went very well! He is now in recovery and will be recovering for weeks to come. 

I am making this page with the hope to take some of the financial burdens of the substantial medical bills off of their shoulders. Alyssa has been on maternity leave since November and Jeff has not been able to work due to being sick and dialysis training. He also won’t be able to go back for some weeks due to recovery from the transplant.

They are stubborn and won’t ask for help which is why I am starting this campaign for them! With them both being out of work at the moment and having two little kids at home, any little bit can help! Everything donated will be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
