Legal and Medical Expenses

I am initiating this "go fund me" to cover my medical and legal expenses. I have secondary progressive Multiple Sclerosis and I have found myself in a legal battle with my only sibling over my father’s estate. The past few months have brought on an emotional toll that I never anticipated. The emotional stress has negatively impacted my health and I am fighting to get back to my baseline. I am disabled, I am a full assist and I need 24 hour support. I never expected to be cast aside by my own family over money.

This money is essential to help me to pay for my medical needs. I will never get better, and the cost of my medical needs will continue to increase. My out-of-pocket expenses are medical costs not covered by insurance (co-pays, dental, vision, and medications), assistive devices and technology, therapy, home accessibility modifications (ramps, lifts, bathroom modifications), transportation, etc.

To challenge the will I need to obtain a lawyer and I cannot afford the attorney retainer and litigation costs on my monthly social security disability which is my only income. Any funds raised over and above my legal fees will be moved to a disability trust to help me with my ongoing disability expenses.

Having a progressive disease is a daily battle and incredibly expensive. I am asking for your support so that I can afford my basic needs in hopes to have a decent quality of life. My goal is to be able to life in the community and not have to move to a nursing home.
