Help Jeff and Our Family Through His Fight With Kidney Failure
Hi, my name is Christy, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my husband, Jeff, and our family. Jeff has lived with juvenile diabetes since childhood, and over the years, it’s taken a toll on his health. Recently, his kidneys have begun to fail, and he’s now facing the difficult reality of kidney disease with little hope of survival and the long road of treatment ahead.
Jeff has been a proud member of Local 14 for 21 years. Jeff has been out of work since early March 2025 due to his declining health. His unemployment benefits have now run out, and we’re still waiting for a decision on his disability claim after two denials and months of uncertainty. While we remain hopeful for a positive outcome, the wait and the bills don’t stop.
We have three wonderful children who are the light of our lives — our youngest, Brynn who we were blessed to adopt two years ago and is just seven years old; our daughter, Riann who’s a senior in high school and will be starting college in the fall; and our son, Jeffrey who is working hard to get into a union and build his future. We are so proud of them all.
We’ve always been a family that works hard and takes care of each other, but right now, we could use a little help from our community. Your support — whether it’s a donation, a share, or a prayer — means more to us than words can express. Every bit helps us keep up with medical costs, daily living expenses, and gives Jeff the peace of mind to focus on healing.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting us through this incredibly hard time. Your kindness gives us strength and hope every single day.
With gratitude,
The Weldon Family
