On Sunday, May 2nd, 2021, Jeff was driving north in his Ram truck on Hwy 35 and was involved in a motor vehicle accident that changed his physical life forever. Jeff went off the road into the median, flipped his truck and crashed into some trees. His heart had stopped on impact, and he had fractured multiple vertebrae and distended his spine. Passerby's were able to flip the vehicle and pull him to safety. Jeff was then resuscitated via two off-duty EMTs and then airlifted to St. Mary's hospital in Duluth.

Jeff was diagnosed with a severe spinal cord injury that made it unclear whether he was going to survive. Jeff was then faced with a possible brain injury, and it was unclear if he'd be able to breathe without a ventilator. After the ventilator was removed and he was breathing successfully on his own and he showed us his real strength and will to continue on!

Jeff is now classified as a quadriplegic, with no current use of his lower body or fingers. He has a long journey of healing ahead and is hopeful that one day he will be able to use his hands again. Jeff maintains a positive attitude throughout this experience and constantly is working hard to get better.

Over the past year, Jeff has faced some major obstacles, medical procedures and has come out of this tragic event completely sound of mind and a will and want to find his new independent life.

As you can imagine, the expenses that Jeff has incurred and will continue to incur to support a much needed independent lifestyle will include therapy, medical equipment and other services that will or may not be covered by insurance. We are asking for your help and support.
