Hello friends, family, and all that took the time to visit this page to read Jeff's story. My name is Cindy Domaguing from Los Angeles, CA. I started this Gofundme page for my brother in law, Jeff Smith and his family.

Jeff Smith is a devoted son, husband, step father, brother in law, and friend. He is fueled by the love and care he provides for his family.

Jeff just had extensive open heart surgery due to a rare, genetic heart condition.

For many that do not know, he moved across the country to be with his now wife, Arlene and step daughters, Bailey and Mckenna. He has worked hard to start a new life in California and to provide for his family. He has had some setbacks settling into a new life here, but has not complained once and continues to strive to provide a better life for his family. Jeff is the sole breadwinner for the family of 4 and does whatever it takes to provide what they need.

This unexpected, but much needed life saving surgery happened over the weekend, when he started to feel unwell and had to call 911. He was rushed to the hospital, where, upon running tests, it was discovered that he had a rare heart condition that needed to be treated immediately.

Since then he’s gone through two surgeries, one of them being open heart where they had to reconstruct the whole left side of his heart. Due to the extent of his heart’s injuries and the lack of cardiac function thereafter, they had to delay the closure of his chest cavity. He’s currently in critical care on life support machines, fighting for his life. While the next few days are critical, we are hopeful that he will pull through this.

He has a long road to recovery, but continues to fight for his family.

We hope to relieve some of the stress and hardship that financial pressure is putting on the family, on top of the existing hospitalization and medical expenses.

The family has never experienced anything like this so they are unsure how much will be needed at this time. Any donations would help offset Jeff’s lost wages, living expenses, and out of pocket medical expenses.

Between being the main point of contact for Jeff while he's in the hospital and taking care of their two minor daughters, my sister has asked me to assist with being the administrator for this page and manage any donations the family receives. 100% of all donations received will be given to Jeff and his family.
