Equine, hunting and fishing community please help our friends Jeff and Lisanne Rankins as he recovers from a near-fatal fall off a scaffolding. Jeff received several skull and facial fractures and while he is currently stable he will be undergoing multiple surgeries to repair the dangerous injuries.
Jeff is a friend, farrier, fisherman, hunter, bladesmith and workaholic and it also means that he is self-employed with no income currently being made. In addition to his farrier life, his love of fishing drove him to open a charter business, Bay Pony Fishing, to share his love of the sport with friends. He often donates these charters or hunting trips to support local charities, as he never knows how to say no to anyone in need. For example, Jeff and Lisanne opened up their farm and spent Thanksgiving weekend on a donated hunt with a group of veterans. He's always there to offer support to those in need and now he needs us.
In addition, very recently, he and Lisanne invested in a farm that will serve as a retirement home for horses so currently they are both stretched very thin. For 2 people who work hard all day, every day with physical jobs, cutting that labor in half will be crippling.
Please help them navigate this horrible event and recovery time. We ask that you consider their needs over the next few weeks and months as well. We know Jeff is going to need horse-strength sedatives and a twitch to keep him from going back to work as soon as he is upright but it doesn't look like that will be any time soon. Your support and prayers are greatly appreciated and could not go to more well-deserved friends.
