Jeff Nixon is a motorcycle mechanic and avid rider in Porterville, CA. On Thursday morning, he was riding to work and a car attempted to pass him on the left, going between 70 and 80 MPH, and hit him. In this collision, Jeff lost his left leg, fractured a vertibrae, experienced brain trauma, and has a colluded carotid artery. He has now been in the hospital for three days, as he was airlifted to Fresno for intensive treatment, and there is no estimated time for when he will be well enough to be released. 

At this time, our family is in need of any help possible. Jeff is the sole source of income in his home and, with him out of work, bills - medical and otherwise - are adding up. With the many drives back and forth to Fresno, his treatment, the future need of a prosthetic leg, and his inability to work for an indefinite amount of time, it's a very uncertain and scary situation. 

His wife has end-stage renal disease and congestive heart failure and is unable to work. Our family is doing its best to support them, but there is only so much that we can do. 

Jeff is a wonderful step-father, grandfather, friend, and husband. He is a sweet, loving man with strong moral standing and many friends who adore him. Already we have received so much emotional support that it seems unfair to have to ask for any more - particularly because Jeff would never ask for anything himself. We can't do this alone though and I thank everyone who even takes the time to read this. 

To those of you who can donate, we are asking for around $10,000 USD. This is for the medical expenses he has incurred thus far, his prosthetic leg, as well as the utilities for his house. Obviously, it is a high goal and we don't expect to receive nearly that much, but every little bit counts. Thank you so much for your continued support during this time.
