Jeff Needs Us: Help After Emergency Surgery
Donation protected
As you may have seen, Jeff is in the hospital. He had to have emergency surgery on a life-threatening infection. Jeff has been fighting off this infection since October. He has been to so many different doctors trying to get a carbuncle removed, but unfortunately, Jeff fell through the medical cracks and was not able to get the surgery scheduled because they all decided that antibiotics would take care of it. We were on our third surgeon and third ER visit between referrals to different doctors when Jeff's infection became life-threatening. He was finally taken into emergency surgery Tuesday as the infection and swelling had spread into his lower extremities and into his hip. Because Jeff was put on so many antibiotics one after another, the infection is now resistant. We are working with infectious disease specialists to find what can be done to get the infection out of him. His first night after surgery, he lost about 2 pints of blood from his incision as they can't close it for about 6 to 8 weeks. Jeff will be out of work for the entirety of the 8 weeks on home health care to heal. As Jeff is the only provider for our family, anything helps and we are grateful. Please help share our story.
