Jeff Garner's Recovery Fund

On Sunday, June 4th, we went out past Manns Creek in Weiser for a day of fun on the ATVs. Little did we know the fun would be short lived.

Riding around the trails, it was inevitable for the dust to kick up, but it proved to just be too much. Without realizing it until it was too late, Jeff ended up riding through a cloud of dust and missing a turn. His ATV was sent 8 feet off an embankment, landing upside down. Jeff was thrown from the ATV, hitting his head. 

After an ambulance arrived, it was determined that he needed to be life flighted to the hospital in Boise. Some of the positive news to share is that Jeff's scans have not shown concern for brain injury. His back, however, was not as lucky.

Last night (June 4th), Jeff underwent surgery to stabilize the break in his back. So far, he has not shown signs of paralysis and is beginning his recovery well. 

If you know anything at all about Jeff, you know that he is the definition of a family man, and his friends are included in his family. He is always someone that you can count on and is willing to do all he can for friend and family alike. Jeff's love for our country is undeniable. I would describe him as a patriotic American, and maybe a bit of a redneck too. 

He has been working on building a BBQ business (Smokin' Idaho BBQ) and has dedicated many hours to getting things set up. Just as things really started picking up for the business, he is now faced with a long recovery.
