Jeff Gade Medical Fund

We are setting up this fundraiser for my brother-in-law, Jeff Gade, who has had a pretty rough year so far.  In March 2019 on the advice of his doctors, Jeff underwent open heart surgery to correct a heart valve issue that he had been dealing with for many years.  The surgery went well and Jeff had worked to get himself back to health after completing his rehabilitation.  However, on the morning of July 31st Jeff suffered a massive stroke in his home, the cause of which was traced back to his heart surgery.  Jeff lived alone and was not checked on or found until two and a half days later. Because of this, he lost the opportunity to receive critical care in the very important beginning hours after the stroke occurred. Jeff was in ICU for 2 ½ weeks and then was moved to a rehabilitation facility.
 
Unfortunately, the facility is ready to release him to his home on Sept 9theven though he is nowhere near being able to live alone or care for his own basic needs. Jeff will need 24-hour care either in a new facility or at home and there is no way to know how long this will last – it could be months or years. Jeff’s bills are mounting as he reaches the limits of what his medical insurance policy will pay.  We are hoping to raise enough money so that he will not have to worry about paying bills or getting the proper medical care that he needs.
