Jeff Forste ICU Battle with Covid 19
Donation protected
My name is Sally Phillips, a TWU Union Sister and friend of Jeff Forste where all of the money will go directly to Jeff's wife, Mary.
If your reading this than your life has most likely been touched by Covid 19 and in some way by the deep love, friendship and generosity of the Forste family. They are and always have been two of the most authentic and generous who have always been their for their children and have given back to others in times of crisis.
Jeff was first diagnosed with Covid 19 on June 6th at Medical City Hospital in Denton, TX where they admitted him which quickly turned into Intensive Care.
On June 22, they put Jeff into a medically induced coma and transferred Jeff to Oklahoma University Hospital in Oklahoma City as his only chance for survival was an ECMO machine. The closest machine from Denton TX. Unfortunately after being transported to Oklahoma University Hospital, Jeff was not a candidate for this life saving device and the team of doctors and nurses are now trying to figure another way to fight this.
Covid 19 affects all five lobes of the lung- three on the right and two on the left. Jeff has double pneumonia, but the Covid 19 is damaging all areas of the lungs. In Jeff's case, the lungs are so damaged carbon dioxide remains in the blood and turns into acid.
Jeff has been the only member of the family generating income for not only him and his wife, Mary while Mary herself is recovering from Covid 19 but also has been financially helping Mary's parents as well.
Unfortunately its very difficult for the family to stand and take all this in addressing not only the hope of Jeff recovering from this but also addressing the expenses of medical and household.
This is a humble request to all individuals to help as much as you can to the Forste Family in this unprecedented hardship they are facing.
Here is what we know :
1. They need financial help. 25,000 is the starting point for what we would like to see raised, especially now that Jeff is out of network and out of State. The medical expenses alone will be astronomical and we know each of us has something they can give even if it's 10.00
2. They need prayers. They need all of us intercepting on their behalf right now.
3. They need us to share this fundraiser beyond our immediate circle to anyone else you know because for most of us, it's been the kindness of strangers to see us thru in our most difficult days.
Lastly, I want to share with you the family love, want and need Jeff along with all his friends, coworkers and neighbors.
Thank you to everyone for your support and prayers for Jeff and his family. It's never been needed more.
Thank you Medical City of Denton TX and Oklahoma University Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK for your compassion and expertise in keeping Jeff alive and giving all of us hope he will survive. A slim hope, but hope is what we need.
