In the early morning hours of Friday, June 1st Jeff Martin was rushed to the emergency room after having suffered a stroke. Initially, the doctors were wary of a positive outcome, but with loving prayer after loving prayer flooding in from friends and family, Jeff’s wellness has steadily increased. However, due to the severity of the stroke Jeff will need undergo physical/speech therapy for an unforeseen amount of time. Though Jeff is now home and getting better, the future is still very unclear for him and his family.
I am writing to you specifically due to Jeff’s husband, Orlando Barsallo. Those of you who are lucky enough to know Orlando know what I mean when I say, nobody has a heart quite like him. He has a passion for life and a passion for people and more specifically, a passion to make the people in his life happy. He calls everyone “friend” because he truly sees everyone he meets as one of his nearest and dearest. His love has no boundaries, and so here is where I ask you to break down the barriers of your heart as Orlando would.
Because Jeff will not be able to work and Orlando will have to take some necessary time off to adjust to the changes taking place, I ask that you help in any way that you can. Your donation will mostly help to cover the accumulating medical bills for Jeff’s hospital stay, possible twenty-four hour home care and continued therapy. I know your contributions would mean so much to both Orlando and Jeff as they travel together along the unpaved path of Jeff’s road to recovery. Nobody prepares for a traumatic life event, and so let’s come together to build a foundation of support these two can lean on.
