I am Kelley, Jeff’s wife. We have had some unfortunate chain of events. I hate asking for any help, but at this point, it is needed. This is a last resort for me.

Jeff hurt his knee approximately 3 weeks ago, and we followed procedure with emergency room and doctor visits. The pain progressively got worse, so we followed up with Ortho Georgia.

They did an MRI and he was found to have insufficiency fractures and will need his knee completely replaced. Of course, this is not the answer we hoped for, but it is what it is. His knee began to swell, so the doctor ordered an ultrasound. The ultrasound showed he had a DVT; this blood clot went from his knee to his groin. Then they found that his lungs were also full of clots. He was immediately admitted to the hospital and started on blood thinners.

Jeff hasn’t worked in three weeks and now he won’t be working for the remainder of this year, due to waiting on blood clots to clear and then having surgery. His job doesn’t have short-term disability, and we’ve used up all his time.

I hate to ask for help, but right now we could use all we can get.
