Jeff and Ariana Fire and Theft Relief

Hi my name is Jeff and my partner Ariana and I recently were just one of the 20 or so people displaced by the Hillcrest Fire in Salt Lake.

Luckily, we were uninjured, but unfortunately the apartment management company decided to cancel our lease, and kick us out, leaving us to scramble to find a new place to live.

The first part of this year was really difficult financially due to a lack of jobs in my line of work as a video producer, editor, and set builder and the fire only compounded that.

Add on top of that, that for almost 2 weeks the complex management would not allow us back into the apartment to retrieve our property, much of which had been destroyed by water damage and smoke, and when I tried to get back in to retrieve my CPAP machine, shoes, and other vital essentials, I was threatened with arrest for "criminal trespass".

The worst part is the night before they finally allowed us reentry, thieves broke in and stole most of the valuables we owned, including a large television, musical instruments, and over $3000 in power tools that were essential for my work as a set builder.

It's not in my nature to ask for charity, but we could use a little help. We are looking for a new place to live and need help with the deposit and the first month's rent. Thanks SO much for anything you can spare! We really appreciate it!
