Hi my name is Riley, and I am fundraising for my mom. As many of you now know my mom was diagnosed with Melanoma and had surgery. She had a very small, tan colored freckle on her. Over the past year this small freckle began to get darker and more raised. After almost 6 months she saw a dermatologist and was able to get tests done, sadly the results weren’t what we had hoped to hear. The cancer was not caught early, but it could’ve been worse. My mom was luckily seen by a surgeon only a few weeks later and told she needed a procedure to see if the cancer spread, and surgery. Her cancer tumor ended up being very deep, but local. Thankfully, all of the cancer was able to be removed. Now she is constantly seen by both her dermatologist and surgeon frequently, because she has a heightened risk to get another tumor. Due to all of this she is surrounded by thousands of dollars in medical bills. My mom is the most giving, and strongest person I know. She is raising two children on her own and has been for just about our entire lives. She has done so much for me (and other people) in my 23 years of life and I want to at least TRY to be able to do something for her in return. I wasn’t planning on making a go fund me because it is so out of mine and my moms comfort zone, but my mom is my best friend and I want to do whatever I can do to help her.
