Jedha’s Emergency Surgery

Many of you who know me know very well that my world revolves around my pets. Jedha, my greatest friend, has unfortunately been injured very badly - presumably being hit by a car - and is in need of orthopedic surgery as soon as possible.

During all of the sounds and commotion from New Year fireworks, Jedha became so frightened that she managed to escape our yard and make a run to what she thought to be safety. I live an area that does not typically ever get fireworks, but as a safety precaution I have my dogs on an anti-anxiety medication for holidays that may have noisy celebrations. Sadly, none of this mattered because when Jedha was let outside for a quick potty break something spooked her and she made a run for it.

After a near 24 hour non-stop search, and a tremendous amount of help from my community’s outreach, she was finally found - WILDLY terrified after her experience and terribly injured. We, in fact, were only able to locate her by following a very large trail of blood. She has seemingly been hit by a car, but was still so afraid that she continued to flee - worsening her injury.

We have been reunited, though, and after many many tears and a trip to the emergency hospital, we know that she needs an orthopedic surgery immediately. She has an open compound fracture of her front leg and the cost of surgery is tremendous for me.

This event has occurred one week after Christmas and on the 1st when all of my bills and utilities have been automatically paid, leaving me feeling helpless to conquer the treatment and surgery expenses. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will make a significant difference in assisting me to get my best friend the help that she desperately needs. Your donations will provide support for her current surgical needs as well as the following medical care that is required during this life changing time for her.
