Jed Fletcher Emergency Heart Surgery
Donation protected
I’m writing this on behalf of my Dad, Jed Fletcher. As some of you may know my dad had a heart attack over the weekend and has been in the hospital since Monday. Since Monday we have found out a few things that are now leading up to him needing emergency open heart surgery tomorrow morning.
The doctors had to start him on a bunch of medication before surgery and monitor it all. He is having 2 procedures now, they found an irregular heart rhythm that could be early AFib. So when they are doing the triple bypass they will do an ablation on that part of the heart that is out of rhythm. My mom has been with my Dad the entire time and my siblings and I have been taking turns taking care of our youngest brother Alston and my parents dogs.
If you know my dad, you know what kind of man he is. He is an extremely hard worker and lives for his family. The surgeon talked to my Dad today and let him know how serious this surgery was and what the road to recovery will look like. He will be out of work for 3-4 months. Hearing that really stressed my dad out. My Dad has always been the financial backbone for our family, Jed has been a welder and mechanic for over 25+ years. So due to his type of work they have placed extra limitations on him. He will need physical therapy and Heart therapy and respiratory therapy for months to come.
Unfortunately there will be a large out of pocket expense for this type of surgery, insurance will not cover 100%. We all will be utilizing any resources we have access to. In the mean time I am trying to lessen the financial burden on my family by creating a go fund me.
If you find it in your heart to donate, please do and share. We are asking all our family and friends to pray, send all positive thoughts, and love to my dad please. And any donations are greatly appreciated.
For any updates please contact Alyssa directly. I don’t want to overwhelm my parents during this time. Thank you again for all your love and support.
