On behalf of our partner and cousin Jed De Los Santos:
On Sunday, February 4th, it was discovered that Jed had a leak in his heart's aortic valve, which cut off circulation in his right leg. He was rushed into a sudden emergency surgery to repair both, and thankfully it was a success! It saved his life, and now he is in recovery and being monitored at the hospital. As you can imagine, the surgeries, medications, extended hospital stay, and physical therapy on his leg create a huge financial strain for Jed. We hope to raise enough funds to ease his financial burden so he can be more focused on the actual recovery process.
In terms of his medical background, Jed was born with Marfan Syndrome, a condition that affects how his connective tissue holds together his body and organs (like his heart), making him extremely vulnerable to issues like these. His father had the same condition and sadly passed when he was just a few years older than Jed is now. He didn't have access to the technology that could have saved his life back then, so it is truly a blessing that Jed was able to get the help he needed and deserves in time.
Despite his personal struggles with health, Jed is a free-spirited and caring person who loves to help people whenever and wherever he can, to make other people's lives better or easier in some way. He has even been offering to help his nurses take care of him! If you know Jed, he is just thoughtful like that and is genuinely the sweetest, most selfless, and overall best person we know. Now he gets to live longer with us! At this time, we turn to his loved ones and anyone who is willing to lend him a helping hand. Whether it's a donation or sharing this page, any assistance is greatly appreciated! Please keep Jed in your thoughts and prayers as he navigates through his significant turning point in his life. We sincerely thank you in advance from the bottom of our hearts.
Direct donations are also welcome! Jed's Venmo information is @Jeddtleman
