Teachers of Jechon Homegoing Fund

https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/family-searches-for-answers-after-11-year-old-shot-to-death-484559611.html

Jechon ( pronounced Jay-Shon) Anderson carried a great, smirky smile, which radiated potential. He was a bit of a jokester, but all of the kids loved him, including the older kids. His charisma often betrayed the spirit of an old soul. Jechon enjoyed math and was diligent in his studies. An amazing dancer, his favorite sport was basketball.  He would have made a great leader.

Unfortunately, Jechon's life was cut short in the early hours of Monday, June 4 in Chicago's West Pullman neighborhood on the Southside.  He was found shot in the head, although further details remain scarce--another victim of the gun violence that is now so prevalent in our country.

We, the teachers and former teachers of Harold Washington Elementary School are hoping to raise money to assist with the costs of burial, which begin at $6000.  We're hoping to add to some of the funds the family already has raised. Falling short of our combined goal will mean that Jechon may not have a funeral, like so many other kids killed in Chicago.

We hope that you will help us. Any amount will do. And please share with your friends. We're hoping to meet our goal in the next few days.

We can't forget about children like Jechon in the anti-gun violence movement.   We must do what we can.
