On Friday January 2nd, my best friend Jeannie Weenie suffered a traumatic brain injury. Her son Frankie had broken his leg, and while she was watching the setting process to monitor him, she passed out and hit her head on the hospital floor. After not finding a heart beat initially, the ER team had to perform chest compressions. She fractured her skull and had a 9mm brain bleed. She was sent to ICU, where she spent a few days for observation, assessment, and pain control.

She has been back at home for about three weeks now, and it has become clear that recovery time will be much longer than expected.

She is still dealing with head pain, dizziness, short term memory issues, and exhaustion- and walking with her new best friend, a purple cane.

Jean is unable to work at either of her two jobs outside of the home. Her husband Pax has had to step up to fill in the gaps of her household and mom responsibilities for their three kiddos (and Frank’s broken leg), which has taken its toll on his own work hours.

The family could really use some extra support right now to get through this difficult time. Any amount would be greatly appreciated.
