Hello. My name is Jeanne Jeffries but my friends & family call me Tootsie. On June 11, 2024, I received the devastating news that pancreatic cancer had decided to take refuge in my body...and unfortunately had already spread to my liver. As you can imagine, I was in total shock and disbelief. "Why me?" I thought to myself.....Not me, the person who is good to everyone! Not me, the person who will give you the shirt off my back and who always tries to do what's right! For 10 days after hearing this news, I was an emotional wreck and my life felt like a rollercoaster...I cried every day as the prognosis for this type of cancer has not been good. Now, I am armed with new information, and am holding steadfast to my faith in God. I now have a resolute drive to fight this disease!!!

I am blessed to have a GREAT support system...my family. My husband has been awesome from day one. My mom says it's just a journey we have to go through and nothing more. My kids, aunts, cousins and other family, friends and coworkers have all reached out to support me. I didn't want to talk initially, but they kept reaching out with prayers and words of encouragement that I needed to hear. Finally, I've gotten myself together and realize that man gave me this diagnosis, not The Almighty Himself!

On Friday, July 19, 2024, I got my medication port inserted. That's when reality set in and I realized that there is no turning back from this journey. I will begin my first chemo treatment on August 7, 2024. The road to remission will be long and hard as I battle to regain my health. Unfortunately, the rounds of chemo and possibly surgery will limit my ability to work and ultimately place a financial burden on me and my family. This is why I am creating this Gofundme account. I am humbly asking for your contributions to help ease this financial burden. Words cannot express how much I appreciate your thoughts, prayers, and financial contributions of ANY amount.

I am a child of GOD as are all members of my family and believe in His word. The devil will not win this battle! I ask that you join your faith with mine as I pray, believe, and thank God in advance for the miraculous healing that I believe He has already begun in me. Let's all fight the good fight of faith and claim victory in the name of Jesus!

Once I begin my treatment, I will provide frequent updates on my progress. I believe this effort will help hundreds of thousands of people who have also received the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.
