Jeanne and Johnny Yu need our help.
As most of you know, Jeanne and Johnny have been trying to leave New Zealand to move home to Hawaii to be with John's Dad since early December. John's Dad just turned 94 and has been in great health. Last week he started to feel unwell and went to the hospital. They all prayed it was not Covid. Unfortunately, it was worse, he was diagnosed with Bone Cancer.
Jeanne and Johnny had already planned to move to Hawaii on December 15th 2020. They had bought their tickets direct from Auckland to Honolulu. Since Covid, the border to Hawaii has been closed. They expect it to open sometime in the Fall. They had been saving up to be able to buy a ticket through LAX in a few months.
As you can imagine, they both want to get home quickly to spend time with John's Dad. There are two flights a week out of Auckland to Los Angeles. Jeanne and Johnny were able to secure a flight on March 18th. The cost of this flight was expensive and not something they had planned on nor did they have any resources to cover the cost so quickly. I know both of them would never want to ask for help. They're too proud.
I wanted to throw this out to their friends to see if we can help them with these unexpected costs. They also need to pay additional transportation for the sea shipment of their goods to Hawaii.
I understand that times are hard for many people. But, I do believe that a little bit goes a long way in helping these two great friends. With that said, please don't feel pressured or obligated. But if you can, I know they would be forever grateful for anything to ease this unexpected expense. I know in both of them, they give when they can and don't give when they cannot.
Anything received would be gratefully appreciated.
