I wish this was a more positive update.
Tonight (November 30th) Jeanine goes in for another emergency surgery to "fix" the awful abrasions / burns / wounds on both of her upper thighs and her lower backside. These abrasions have been the source of most of her pain since she returned home on November 22. The risk of infection has been high and the pain she's been in is unimaginable. She began antibiotics to combat the infection however - after meeting with a plastic surgeon (today), the decision was immediately made that grafting is inevitable.
This week we also learned that Jeanine's insurance has refused to cover ALL medical bills (x-rays, surgery cost, CAT-scan, neck brace, hospital stay, antibiotics, pain medicine, check-ups, specialty doctor visits, physical therapy... EVERYTHING). So we have looked for assistance to further investigate what can be done with her insurance.
With all of that said - I am still in awe of the help from all over the world (literally) that Jeanine has received. I am overwhelmed by the support for her, myself, Ulysses and Patrick. I am forever grateful. Truly.
I am raising the goal to $100,000 for Jeanine. Jeanine will need two separate skin grafts. The estimated price out of pocket is over $100,000 not including her 5 night mandatory hospital stay following the surgery.
With her insurance refusals in the past week - and this being associated to the past surgery- I am not sure how else she would pay for the cost of this second surgery, recovery, future check ups and further physical therapy (that she has not even begun) without this gofundme. It has changed her life and has reduced the high level of anxiety.
If you feel led to give - please give - if you are able to share the link with others or on social media- please do. Send this girl a prayer, send her a positive thought, wish some good news her way... While I already know this girl is tough (really tough) I also know she is hurting- both physically and emotionally. This has been traumatic for every single person, especially Jeanine.
Thank you a million times.

Dear friends and family,
For those of you who don’t know, myself (Ally), Patrick, Ulysses and Jeanine traveled to Curacao (an island in the Caribbean) this weekend to celebrate Jeanine’s 25th birthday. What had started as a celebration on a tropical island quickly turned into a terrifying situation. Last night, as we were traveling home, we were struck by another vehicle. The vehicle was speeding in the wrong lane on the road. The vehicle struck one of the passenger side doors which happened to be where Jeanine was sitting.
While we all have minor scrapes, cuts, bruises and concussions, Jeanine took the hardest hit. Currently, she is in the only hospital in Curacao, waiting to go into surgery tomorrow. Jeanine suffered multiple fractures to her vertebrae and pelvis. Tomorrow she will undergo surgery to repair her fractured hip. Unfortunately, this has brought about a huge financial burden as Jeanine’s insurance will not cover an out of country surgery.
The estimations for the ambulance, emergency services (x-rays & MRI’s), surgery, change of flight and further rehabilitation comes to well over $15,000 (out of pocket). Without knowing how high this estimate will rise we cannot get Jeanine home or do this on our own.
Ulysses, myself and Patrick ask for any donations in order to ease the impact of this entire situation.
All donations will go directly to Jeanine Moussa’s medical bills and travel fees. Jeanine will not be able to make her current flight itinerary and will have to fly from Curacao at a later date than originally scheduled. We want to get her home ASAP after her surgery and we are asking for your help.
Thank you for your consideration, no amount is too small in this situation.
