Jeanie Keppel's Fight Against Breast Cancer
Donation protected
Hello everyone! This is Justin, Jeanie's husband. As some of you know, Jeanie was diagnosed with breast cancer in August. It's treatable, and we're trying to stay optimistic. She began a 6-month chemo treatment and is about three months into that now, and she's doing pretty well staying strong and in good spirits. The next three months of chemo are the more difficult ones. After chemo treatments, she'll have surgery. She's trying to stay active by baking sourdough, knitting, playing with Marguerite, and we do short outings when she has the energy.
You may know Jeanie from her long-time work as a beloved teacher at Temple Sinai Preschool. Since treatments started, she hasn't been able to work. She had just got a new job as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, having just finished grad school, but may not be able to return to work for a while. Also, since Jeanie only worked at her new job for a short time, she's not able to go on disability. Even with medical insurance, we've been surprised by how expensive treatment is and have done our best to live frugally, but it's gotten extremely difficult. We kind of hated doing this, but we've dipped into our savings, begun to run up credit card debt, and aren't sure what else to do. Thanks for anything you can donate to help us pay for medical treatments and bills. Whether you donate or not, we sincerely appreciate all of the love and support you have shown us for the last several months!
