As some of you may know, Jeanette tragically lost her husband, Bryant McGowan, on July 28th, 2022. In March, the couple relocated from Atlanta, GA to Huntsville, AL so that Bryant could fulfill his professional dream of becoming a firefighter. Bryant collapsed at work after completing a very rigorous course during an Alabama heat wave. He had to be transported to the emergency room via ambulance where he was put on life support. He was moved to the intensive care unit but declined rapidly after being stable for several hours. He was revived multiple times but eventually succumbed to what ever process was taking place in his body. Bryant was scheduled to graduate from the fire academy on September 9, 2022.
Jeanette and Bryant are two of the most wonderful people with the most beautiful souls— dedicating their lives to serve others. Both of them were born with a generous heart to sacrifice— Jeanette is a former MICU nurse turned PACU nurse and Bryant was a personal fitness trainer as he entered the fire academy. Their goal was to continue serving people in their professions, through their Christian faith and by starting a small business. As young vibrant 30’ish year-olds, they were looking forward to the next phase of life together.
We are all devastated and confused by Bryant’s loss. Being so young, the couple was not prepared for the high cost of end of life expenses. We also anticipate that Jeanette will naturally work less as she adjusts to her sudden and new normal. It is our desire to honor Bryant’s memory and to make Jeanette’s overall financial burden lighter.
No one expects to lose a spouse so soon and so young. Jeanette is not one to ask for help so we are asking for her. We are currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of Bryant’s memorial and end of life expenses and assistance with Jeanette’s future day to day living expenses. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
Please consider donating if you can, as any amount will truly help.
