Help pay for a private MRI to advance care of endometriosis
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Jeanette and I’m fundraising for a private MRI in order to advance the care of what is long suspected to be endometriosis, and adenomyosis. I have a 30 year history of severe chronic pelvic pain, cysts, excessive, bleeding, and infertility. Alhamdullilah, thank God, I went through a successful round of IVF 8 years ago and have been blessed with a beautiful boy but since then I have endured increasing chronic pain and heavy bleeding despite pharmaceutical interventions.
Unfortunately since getting divorced and moving back to Canada, I am alone in this journey and no longer have access to the quality medical care that I had when I lived in France.
Currently the gynaecological surgeon will not see me without a pelvic MRI scan. The MRI requisition was submitted from my doctor in November 2024 and finally the appointment was confirmed for February 2026 … exactly 440 days after the request! This is an alarming indication of the failure of our public healthcare system.
I am a full-time single mother, caring for a child with a complex neurodivergent diagnosis. I am in daily pain. I need to get this taken care of in order to be my best for my son. I literally cannot wait this long for an MRI under the Public Health system in British Columbia. I am planning inshaAllah to have a private MRI done as soon as possible in order to proceed with the consultation with the gynaecologist. The gynaecologist appointment has been postponed numerous times because of the inability to get an MRI in a timely manner. Currently, my specialist appointment is booked for August 22, 2025 and I am hoping with your support I can get and pay for a private MRI scan before this date in order to not lose this appointment again. The cost of the appointment with Priority Diagnostics in Richmond, BC is $1400 Canadian.
Jazak Allah khair and thank you to anyone who can offer financial support to get this done as quickly as possible. It will not be possible without your support. Any funds raised beyond $1400 will be used to pay for childcare during the appointment, alternative therapies (hijama, acupuncture), and donated to World Central Kitchen.
