Jean Ndayizeye

Dear friends, family, and community, it is with a heavy heart that we are announcing the death of Jean Ndayizeye. For those of you that knew him, you knew that he was a fighter. Jean fought till the very end so much so, that none of us thought it was the end just yet.

For 6 years Jean has been bottling heart failure, high blood pressure, and kidney failure. Because of it, he has been in and out the hospital. In early December of 2022, at 38 years young, Jean learned the devastating news that he only had 2 months to live but on December 29th he was rushed to the ER and was pronounced dead on January 1, 2023.

Jean was so kind and humble. He was very active in helping the poor and widows in his birth country Burundi. He always had a soft spot for the needy. He provided free rides for the widows to doctor's appointments and supermarkets in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where he was currently residing. Jean leaves behind his wife and 6 children.

We are absolutely devastated by Jean’s passing and are struggling to find funds to cover the cost of the funeral and hospital bills. Please consider donating if you are able to do so. We are so very grateful for every donation during this difficult time.

Muntango z’ukwezi kwa cumi na kabiri 2022, kumyaka 38 y’ubuto, Jean yamenyeshejwe inkuru ibabaje ko asigaje amezi abiri gusa yokubaho ariko itariki 29 z’ukwicumi na kabiri, niho yihutishwa mubitaro arevye cane hanyuma kwitariki imwe y’ukwambere uyumwaka, niho batangaza ko arangije urugendo gwiwe gwo mwisi.

Jean yaranzwe n’ubuntu no kwicisha bugufi. Numuntu yaranzwe nugutabara abatishoboye n’abapfakazi mugihugu ciwe c’amavukiro Burundi. Yahoze afise ikibanza c’iteka mugufasha abakene. Yarunguruza abapfakazi abajana mu ma rendezvous, no kumasoko aha muri Cedar Rapids aho yarasanzwe aba. Jean asize umugore n’abana batandatu.
