JEAN KUEVI Funeral arrangements

On August 19th 2016, my dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and that was when our journey and battle of survival began. That was the moment I wish I had brothers or sisters.

By the power of God, we were able to help him through his time of radiations and chemotherapies, but after treatments, when everybody was expecting him to get better, his situation instead worsened. No one has thought that a man of his kind, meaning one who was very active, healthy, happy, careful, he who used to compete with younger men in soccer, had become incapable of even standing on his feet.

On December 20th 2016, about 1:30PM, we all had a meeting with his Doctor and that was then that the doctor announced to us that they had discovered more tumors which have reached his liver. Even worse, that at this time they were unable to even treat him based on the stage that he has reached.  That was just the harshest words that I’ve ever heard and the worst pain that I had ever endured. The news has literally broken my family’s heart apart. At the meeting, I remember when my dad asked the Doctor: “Am I going to die?" and the Doctor responded: “yes". That answer almost took my mom’s life away. Even if my mom did not lose her life in the Doctor office, I knew that we were now facing a pending death at our door. From that moment my dad stopped talking. Right when we went back, he then started having pain everywhere. I could say that was the moment he started battling death.

On December 22nd around 2:35AM, he died in our arms right after I told him to just go in peace.

We are now  left with more than $100,000.00 out of pocket hospital charges. The funeral costs are estimated to be around $15,000.00. We have nowhere to turn but to ask for help to answer his wish to be buried back home in TOGO (West Africa). Help of any kind will certainly be appreciated.

Dad, it was sad to hear your last breath, I couldn’t believe for a second that I would spend this Christmas time without you. Dad you are the rock of the family, you are the umbrella under which we find shelter. You are the one who always lift me up when I was down. Dad, I wouldn’t trade you for anything else. Your courage is something that I heavily admire, I miss your voice. I am heartbroken, devastated, saddened that you left so soon since we had so many plans and projects but I am at ease that you are no longer suffering. I know you will continue to protect us and guide us in the right direction. We will forever love and miss you dad. Rest In Peace and Love.
