Jean Hebert Camp Fire Hero

Donation protected
Jean Hebert is my personal hero and now, he needs your help too.
I was in Oregon when the fire broke out and my sister had already left the house to get her daughter and couldn't get back to it. Forced to leave everything behind, including her pets, because she had no notice.
Jean risked HIS life making sure I had my important papers, rounding up our pets and getting MY car loaded up (I actually had a rental car) with everything he could.
When the elderly neighbors said they wanted to stay, he stayed too. And watched and waited.
Helping to organize what they needed, keeping minds occupied and soothing frayed nerves, Jean gave comfort and strength to some pretty scared folks.
At 2 am Friday morning, when he realized that the wind had shifted, (without the help of any news reports because the electricity had been out for hours), Jean went door to door, banging as loudly as he could to wake them up and get them out safely.
Equipped only with everyone's garden hoses, and a defective head lamp, Jean selflessly and without hesitation, stayed to try and protect THE ONLY THING my sister and I owned, OUR HOME.
From 3 am until 10 am, alone and in the dark, he went from house to house, soaking things down and putting out fires.
A REAL HERO.
At 10 am, hearing the roar of the fire coming towards him, he was forced to leave, driving MY CAR loaded with animals and MY stuff.
He sacrificed his OWN vehicle, tools, equipment and possessions to save mine. He actually drove away ahead of the flames with my sister's border collie on his lap.
No easy task.
Not knowing his ordeal, or what he sacrificed, or if he were even alive, I waited to hear from him. It was more than 24 hours later, that I did.
He was physically, emotionally and mentally drained and exhausted.  After getting some rest, he had to take a bus back to San Rafael.
There are lots of heroes from the Camp Fire, but not all their stories will be told and if you asked them,  they would say that they weren't heroes at all. Just people doing what people are supposed to do. Help each other.
That's what makes them true heroes, they are humble and seek no glory.
But Jean IS my personal angel and NOW  he could use your help too.
Back in Marin now, he's scrambling to find a new vehicle, replace his lost personal possessions and equipment and tools to start the jobs that are beginning to pile up.
All while trying to process the horrific ordeal he went through and the tragic events he witnessed.
PLEASE HELP JEAN GET BACK ON HIS FEET AND START OVER!!!
Thank you!
