We are issuing this page for someone that is close to our hearts. It is not often that we reach out to ask to help someone but this is the best forum to get the word out to people we feel will take this seriously enough to read.

Our dear friend Jean was recently diagnosed with cancer. Jean came to the United States from Brazil and loves this country where he raises his beautiful 12 yr old daughter Valentina. Everything changed once he received his diagnosis which caused him to change his entire life plan resulting in him having to return to Brazil to seek treatment. While less expensive than cancer treatment (surgery, chemo, etc.) in the United States, this is not an inexpensive endeavor and one which entails significant financial support sans health insurance.

To that end, we are asking anyone and everyone to kick in any amount you may be able to contribute to our dear friend who not only deserves it but wants more than anything to pay it forward by returning home to the US to his family and continue to be the special friend to those who have been fortunate to know him since he's been here in the US.

This ask was not something he wanted but rather something he has accepted because it is necessary.

We are asking for your help to do one of the only things we can at this point- to help fund his expenses and treatment. This is the one thing we can do so that he may be able to concentrate on what matters most- healing, praying and focusing on getting better.
