Aid to the Poverty of LCO Rez

Hello,
My name is Kathleen Espersen, and I am a member of the Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe Chippewa Indians. We are located in Northern Wisconsin on the LCO Reservation. I am an Ordained Minister, with a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice, I offer different types of counseling (free of charge) as most of the people here are of extremely poverty. I mentor many women of all ages. I do my very best to lift up their spirits as depression is serious here. I also teach that education is the key to their financial freedom.
Monies donated are used to pay for such things as diapers, baby formula and baby food, thrift store clothing as funds are very tight. Other things I would love to help with is partial rent and utilities. I try to help them to meet their needs while maintaining their self respect, I teach women to be self sufficient with such things as job training skills. Life skills are so very important.
Most of the women I work with are single parents who struggle day to day to make ends meet. Other things I do is encourage women to come to bible studies and lead them on local mission trips. Volunteering in the community is good for one's soul.
