My name is Karen Ayou. I don't know Brandy, but I know her mother well and all she wants for her daughter is to heal, survive and thrive and the only way possible is hyperbaric oxygen chambers. 12 years ago, at age 21, Brandy Kostka was diagnosed with 2 brain tumors.Her treatment was chemo and radiation to the head. She had a full recovery, received a University degree, got a great job working for an oil company and life was good.
2 years ago, they found another brain tumor that was in operable. She went through 2 stem cell transplants and the strongest chemo a human body could receive.
The cancer is gone, but due to the intense radiation from 12 years ago, she has had a stroke. The stroke has affected the entire left side of her body. She now has to live with her parents because she can't do a single thing on her own. Her speech is gone, her swallowing and eating have been affected. She needs a hearing aid. She had to sell her car, because her eyesight was affected. She now needs a wheelchair or a walker with a brace. Her entire life has been turned upside down due to cancer.
The oncologist that gave the radiation suggested Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber as the only hope and miracle that Brandy would have left. It's working! Within the first 17 days her speech has come back and they are seeing improvements! These sessions are VERY expensive and not covered by the government.
I am so grateful for my health and freedom, I can't imagine feeling trapped, dependant on others for every little thing, especially when it's someone my own age. Let's get Brandy on the road to recovery!
