Hello friends.

When life gets weird, it gets really weird.

Many of you may know that the last month has represented a whirlwind of change for me. Some highlights:

— On November 24th, I suffered a bad bike crash, resulting in a shattered olecranon process and an orbital fracture, the former of which I received surgery for on Thanksgiving.

— On November 28th, I came to the conclusion that my housing situation was untenable moving forward and gave notice with my landlord; I will be living with my parents for two or three months during this time of transition.

— On December 12th, a consultation revealed that I was a prime candidate for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, which I will be filing for in the next month or so to try to get a mountain of unsecured debt discharged.

— Perhaps the most concerning and difficult, since about November 30th, I have been suffering from truly alarming levels of anxiety and insomnia, typically getting 1-4 hours of sleep per night. This has resulted in severe brain fog and emotional disregulation, and has superseded all other health concerns in terms of what I am immediately aware of. My primary care doctor has been made aware, and we are in the early stages of trying different pharmacological and therapeutic remedies — as you will know if you have sought psychotherapy or counseling, this can be a torturously slow process.

So!

All that brings me to this fundraiser. So many of you have already been kind enough to help me with food right after the surgery (THANK YOU )… but it seems that I may be facing a more significant process of recovery than I initially thought, and I must in great meekness and humility ask for any assistance you can render.

What will your donations be spent on?

— Therapy. Both physical and psychiatric, any costs which end up being exceeding what my insurance will bear.

— Medical costs. Copays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs not covered by my insurance (especially after we roll over into the new calendar year).

— Moving expenses. I own practically nothing, renting a small room, never having had a car, and having sold nearly all of my music gear to try to cover recent mounting expenses. This will help defray minor expenses as I try to figure out where I am landing.

Please believe me that I would not make such a request if I were not in a somewhat calamitous position. I hope to recover, return to work, and put my life on a course towards something more functional and useful to humankind than what it has been… but in the meantime, any assistance you can render would be deeply and humbly appreciated.
