As we enter 2020 our hearts remain broken for our friends, The Norton Family, for the recent loss of Mark "DD". Mark was always a fun-loving, dedicated friend, colleague, teammate and proud Salem State Alumnus. He was diagnosed back in the spring of 2019 with (MDS) Myelodys-Plastic Syndrome, a blood disorder that affects the immune system. Mark made the decision to have a stem cell transplant this past August and luckily enough, there was a matching donor. He was very optimistic that this was his best chance of fighting this disease, in Mark's words "GAME ON". Mark fought hard and he did make it home to his family. Unfortunately, he developed some complications and Mark lost his battle on December 11, 2019. He leaves behind his wife, Gail and two young children, Liam, age 14 and Erin, age 11.
Mark's many hospitalizations and treatments have left financial struggles for Gail and the kids, as well as current and future financial obligations. Please consider donating any amount to help this kind and wonderful family. We appreciate your help!
If you would like to read about Mark's incredible journey, you can do so on his page at caringbridge.org. Thank you so much!
