Help Joe Heal

Hi Friends,

 

Would you please join us in supporting Tyler and Grace Perdew as they seek treatement for their oldest son, Joe? Here is Joe's story in Grace's words:

 

"Joe was diagnosed with Lyme disease and several severe co-infections after a delayed illness. Before we could get those dealt with he went into renal failure and was flown to Seattle Children's Hospital for dialysis. An ultrasound and echo showed smaller than normal kidneys, stressed liver, and one side of his heart enlarged. His doctors at the Children's Hospital will not even entertain the idea that Lyme is the cause, but we have confirmation that because Lyme does indeed wreck havoc on the organs treating his Lyme disease is critical to being able to heal his kidneys. I have found a doctor who does treat Lyme and all the co-infections, but Joe will need to continue doing dialysis during the Lyme treatment or the organs will continue to be under attack from the infection. The Lyme doctor is in Idaho, 8 hours from Seattle. Its $3,500 for that treatment start to finish and we will either have to drive there and back on off days of dialysis or find a medical center closer who we can transfer to. We also will have to find a place to rent for the duration in hopes of keeping the rest of the family together. He is dreadfully missed by his 6 younger siblings and Seattle Childrens Hospital won't allow them to visit. Insurance does cover dialysis as long as that is kept in state but the Lyme treatment is not. For the sake of the rest of the kids I'm really hoping we won't have to sell our property to pull thru this. They need the hope that they can go back to where their roots are when Joe is well again."

 

Tyler and Grace are currently alternating back and forth between their home and the hospital several hours away so that someone is always with Joe and the other children are taken care of. This means alot of work lost for Tyler. They are also needing to find a rental in Idaho for at least 4 months - while still paying their own mortgage and trying to bring in income as well. The added travel expenses will also be a strain to the family. Please consider helping this precious family as they walk through this difficult time. We want to see them come through thriving on the other side.
