JD was born with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH), which is not heard about much but is about as common as cystic fibrosis. He was born with a hole in his diaphragm. He had surgery a week after he was born to correct the issue and was in NICU for 61 days. There were several occasions where we weren't sure he would survive, but he is a strong little boy. After being home for about 2 weeks, he needed another surgery to repair the hernia. He did great and after about 2 weeks, he was home. Then, a few weeks later, he was back in the hospital for a twisted small intestine and several more surgeries. Then in September he had more surgery. He's been in the hospital for about 7.5 months out of his 9 months of life. He has had 12 surgeries already and we hope that there won’t be any more. We are raising funds for medical expenses for his hospital stay and surgeries. We greatly appreciate any amount to help his family with these expenses.
