Help Me Get Top Surgery!

Hi friends!
I'm raising money for top surgery, which will ideally happen in spring or summer 2020. I had planned on getting it done earlier in Chicago with Dr. Loren Schechter, but based on some worrying reviews of his results and attitudes towards patients, I've cancelled my consultation with him. Since I recently moved to DC, I've reached out to a couple doctors in the DMV and I'm waiting to hear back to schedule a consultation.
This is something I've wanted since I was 16 years old. Back then, I had very little hope of being at a point where I had the social support, let alone the financial means to make this a reality. I'm now out to the most important people in my life and have a network of friends, family, and chosen family to support me during the recovery process, but the cost of surgery has been prohibitive.
Surgery costs run anywhere from $6,000-10,000. I'm hoping to get insurance through my new job soon, which may or may not cover part of the cost, and I have about $2,000 in personal savings, but I'm reaching out for help with raising the rest. Anything I don't end up using for consultation and surgery costs I'll donate to the ACLU and Transgender Legal Defense Fund.
