Help My Mom, Brandy, Fight Breast Cancer
Organized by her daughter, Madilynn
Hi, my name is Madilynn, and I’m creating this GoFundMe for my mom, Brandy.
Over the past year, my mom’s health has steadily declined after months of unexplained pain, fatigue, and serious autoimmune symptoms. She went through countless appointments, imaging, procedures, referrals, and hospital visits while still trying to show up for everyone else.
My mom has lived with Type 1 diabetes since she was 19, an autoimmune disease that requires constant, daily management. More recently, she has been battling a systemic autoimmune inflammatory illness that is actively attacking her body, affecting her joints, muscles, nerves, and immune system. While this illness is real and ongoing, it has not yet received a final diagnosis, which has made treatment difficult and exhausting.
After months of searching for answers, further testing revealed a breast mass. A biopsy confirmed invasive ductal carcinoma (breast cancer).
The same week my mom found out she had breast cancer, she lost her job—and with it, her health insurance.
Her doctors have confirmed that her treatment plan includes chemotherapy, radiation, and a mastectomy, followed by a long and difficult recovery. Managing cancer treatment while also living with Type 1 diabetes and active autoimmune disease has been overwhelming, both physically and emotionally.
Before all of this, my mom was a Registered Nurse who dedicated her life to caring for others. Nursing wasn’t just her job—it was who she was. She worked long hours, often putting her patients before herself, even while quietly managing her own health challenges.
Now, she is unable to work due to the intensity of her treatments and ongoing medical needs. At the same time, medical bills, medications, diabetes supplies, travel to appointments, and everyday living expenses continue to grow.
This fundraiser exists so my mom can focus on fighting cancer and healing, instead of worrying about how to survive financially during the hardest time of her life.
Funds raised will help with:
• Chemotherapy, radiation, and mastectomy-related costs
• Loss of income and loss of health insurance
• Medical bills, medications, and diabetes supplies
• Travel to appointments and daily living expenses
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page means just as much.
Thank you for supporting my mom during this incredibly difficult time. Every prayer, message, share, and donation truly matters.
