Help 9-Year-Old Matthew Fight Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy: He Desperately Needs a Wheelchair

My name is Tiffany, and I’m reaching out with a mother’s plea for help. My 9-year-old son, Matthew, is facing a heartbreaking battle with Duchenne muscular dystrophy—a progressive, life-limiting disease that slowly takes away a child’s ability to walk, move, and live freely.

Matthew is a bright, kind, and courageous boy. Despite his strength and spirit, Duchenne is starting to take a toll on his little body. Walking is becoming harder, and without the right support, everyday activities are becoming a struggle.

We’ve reached a point where Matthew urgently needs a specialized wheelchair to help him move safely and comfortably. This isn’t just about mobility—it’s about preserving his independence, keeping him in school, and allowing him to enjoy being a kid. Unfortunately, we have not been able to get coverage for his wheelchair, and the cost is overwhelming for our family.
