Fight For Life

Allow me to introduce my dear friend Nats. Please listen to her story...

"My name is Natalie Lindo. I am an educator, administrator and artist who loves God and others. In 2015, while on a missions trip overseas, I was formally diagnosed with ALS - a neurodegenerative disorder that has been slowly paralyzing me over time. There is no known cure for this disease, but existing treatments may help to delay progression. Stem cell therapy is one such option (not from embryos) being proposed by my doctor, to help me retain some of the functionalities I thankfully still possess, and possibly restore some strength. However this is a very costly process and I need your help.

I am mostly symptomatic in my upper extremities, my speech and recently, my legs (though I am still able to walk) are all affected. Thankfully, I’m also still able to work despite the challenges; in short, “I’m still standing.” My deterioration has been very slow, though painful in several ways as I try to adjust to the stripping of self and life. The most painful is often the burden placed upon my loved ones, especially my mom who is my primary caregiver. She is an awesome person! I don't know what I would do without her and the many who have been loving me throughout this difficult, but transformational journey. Together, they are a gift from God.

It is so easy to want to give up at times but there is still a lot of life in me to give. It is my hope, that with your support I will have that opportunity because today - I CHOOSE TO FIGHT FOR LIFE!"
